Healing Service
On May 25, 2012, Holy Apostles Orthodox Church, will hold a healing service. The service will take place at its church at 347 Ridge Rd, Lansing. The public is invited to participate in the service, and are encouraged to be part of this historic service. The service begins at 6:30 PM. A prayer service, known as an akathist in the Orthodox Church, will be celebrated in the presence of a miraculous and holy image known as the Pantanassa Icon of the Mother of God. This will be followed by anointing with holy oil.
Many miracles have been associated with this holy image. There are many recent records of people who have been healed from cancer after praying in the presence of this holy image, both in Greece, and in other places where copies of this image reside.
“With so many people sick or hurting, both physically and spiritually, we wanted to come together as a community and pray for our healing. Everyone is need of healing, in one way or another. Our parish is excited to share this service with the public, and the healing that the Orthodox Church has to offer,” said Fr. James Worthington, rector of Holy Apostles Orthodox Church.
